Prof. Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. Her name has been widely praised for being the pioneer of research into child witnesses as well as eyewitness memories in the context of legal proceedings. Professor Goodman publishes widely has received several grants, and has been awarded numerous award both international and national. She has collaborated with a variety of authorities and organisations across the world on policy and research pertaining to children who have been victims of the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center and was previously it was the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of numerous professional groups, such as that of Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society, the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was President of the American Psychological Association's three divisions that include Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Family and Child Policies and Practice.
